  • Salsa Bomba dance workshops are designed to be fun and social. The Beginner workshops cater for those who do not necessarily have any dance background, however, if you have learnt any kind of dance, especially a partner dance style, then this may be to your advantage

  • Salsa Bomba teaches mainly Cuban (AKA Casino/circular) and a little bit of linear Salsa, and we also teach some Merengue (from The Dominican Republic)

  • One of the best ways to get better at Salsa dancing is to become familiar with the music as it generally does not have a bass beat.  Another good way to learn, outside of doing the steps, is watching others.  And of course, attending Salsa dance parties is also another great way to learn!!

  • Most students are in the age range of mid 20’s to mid 50’s, however our workshops are open to all ages 18yrs and above. (NB/ Salsa Bomba adult students need to be at least 18yrs old, however, we will accept students of 16 & 17yrs old if a parent or guardian either attends the workshop also or is a spectator for that session).

  • You do not have to bring a partner with you.  Salsa Bomba will arrange for experienced dancers (often Leaders) to attend the workshops to even up the Leader/Follower ratio

  • If you wish to stay with one partner through the course we ask that you let us know as well as stand to the side of the circle to avoid dance partner swapping confusions.  We encourage being part of the dance partner circle as we have found enhanced learning is experienced with different dance partners – especially more experienced partners

  • In terms of clothing, just make sure you have comfy shoes and comfy, loose clothing.  For females, a court/small heeled shoe is fine (or whatever heel height you are used to – if any).  Sneakers and rubber soles are not advisable as they stick to the floor; however, this may not affect your dancing for the first few weeks

  • We suggest you bring your own water bottles; however, you can use cups and water provided.

  • Arriving 10 mins before the workshop starts is preferable

  • Please contact us for workshop prices
